Eating disorders suck the joy out of life.
FOOD AND BODY FREEDOM IS POSSIBLE!
Hi! I’m Kate.
I provide in-person and online therapy for adult women with eating disorders, trauma and anxiety in Raleigh, NC and across North Carolina.
Guess what?! You are so much more than the size of your pants.
I help women with a history of disordered eating let go of diets for good and finally feel at peace with their body.
My clients struggle as you do. Despite being highly sensitive, intelligent, and motivated, life is hard.
When they first come in, they’re exhausted by the constant merry-go-round of diets that leaves them feeling like a failure. They feel stuck between fears of weight gain and desperation to get rid of their crushing body shame.
They’ve tried to stop their disordered eating behaviors on their own. They’ve read books about body image. But none of it has helped. They still feel anxious, restless and lash out if they slip up with food or miss a workout. They hate being this kind of person who can’t chill out and have a normal relationship with food. They worry about how this is impacting their kids.
Their self-loathing has made it hard to focus at work and with the people they care about. The sensation of their work pants waistband can send them into a tailspin. Holiday gatherings are spent trying to navigate landmines of body negativity in their own mind and commentary at the dinner table.
Their disordered eating issues get in the way of the life they want in so many ways.
They aren’t the kind of person they want to be. They feel like they’re failing as a mom. And their confidence at work is tanking.
Before they came to see me, they’d tried therapy before. Sometimes, body stuff came up, but just trying to change their thoughts and behaviors wasn’t working. They suspected they needed to get into the real issues that made it hard to ditch disordered eating for good.
They worried what it would mean to really get to the heart of their body woes, but they were so ready for relief.
Like my clients, you deserve to be able to keep all kinds of food in your pantry without panic. It is possible to feel good enough without relying on compliments from your fatphobic cousin at Thanksgiving.
A joyful, trusting relationship with your body is not out of your reach.
If you want to feel genuine self-acceptance and relief from food fears, I’d love to help you get there.
Call now. You don’t have to suffer. I can help.
